About the Artist

Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia, Karin Carlson hand-fabricates all of her unique pieces, beginning with simple sheets of metal and spools of wire in sterling silver, copper, 14k gold-filled, bronze, brass and aluminum, with semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, Czech glass and other carefully selected accents. Most of her jewelry components are made completely by hand – from sterling silver earring hooks that are comfortable enough to sleep in yet never fall out, to unique little accents like individually made bead caps and wirework details that make her work truly unique, durable and utterly wearable.

With a background as a fine jeweler who specialized in custom designs in gold and silver, Karin has been creating special pieces for special people for more than 30 years. She now works exclusively as an art jeweler who continues to experiment in high-quality affordable materials that will be as wearable and as beautiful in decades as the day that they were purchased. Because of this, her work is guaranteed for life. If it ever breaks, she’ll fix it with a smile, free of charge.
